Jamie Turns 2
Jamie ended up having more of a “birth week” than a “birthday”.
On Wednesday Jamie had treats at daycare to celebrate with his friends. On Thursday, (the actual birthday) Jamie stayed with Grandma in the morning and then got to have lunch with Papa, Grandma and Mom at his favorite – Guadalajara’s. He was super excited about his rice and beans. After that Jamie rode to Blunt, Onida and Agar to help Grandma and Great-Grandma put flowers out for Memorial Day. He took a nap the whole time. Then, Aunt Misty came and drove with Mom and Jamie to Spearfish to celebrate with Dad and Uncle Andy. We had supper at Sanford’s and then went to see Garrett and Ann’s new house! It was really nice and Jamie had a lot of fun playing with Ann and her Elmo doll. On Friday, Jamie went swimming with mom and Aunt Misty while Dad and Andy were in class. Over Daddy’s lunch hour we went to the campus and got some new clothes from the Bookstore. Misty got to visit with her old co-workers and Jamie got some cute shirts for his birthday. After that mom, Aunt Misty and Jamie walked around campus and visited old friends and co-workers of mom’s. Mom had a great time and Jamie really loved Cheri in Financial Aid. After that everyone drove to Rapid City in the fog and met Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Denny for supper at Red Lobster - yum! Jamie spent the night at the hotel with Grandma, Grandpa and Misty. Mom and Dad got a much need night of rest and were supposed to help Grandma and Grandpa Ogan pour footings for an addition on the cabin the next morning, but it rained all night so everyone just hung out at the cabin so that Grandma K and Grandpa D could spend time with Jamie. Jamie got to go to Applebee’s with them, Aunt Misty, Uncle Aspen and Cecily. We were supposed to go to Storybook Island in the afternoon, but because of the rain we weren’t able to. SO – we all headed up to the cabin for the PARTY! Jamie opened all of his presents (thanks to everyone, he is so spoiled!), and we had Elmo cake. After that we went to the new Casa Del Rey – Casa Real for supper. And after that it was back up to the cabin to play with new toys. See the photos below! Jamie had a great time, but we were happy to be home after a long weekend. Misty stayed until Monday evening and helped do laundry, etc and that night Jamie’s great-grandparents (Jim, Norma and Betty) came over for home made ice cream. Jamie had fun showing them his new train and cars. … Mom and Dad are on a DIET after the weekend!
Mother’s Day
Better late than never! Jamie (with help from Daddy, Andy and Grandpa) baked me a big sugar cookie and decorated it for Mother’s Day. It was a great surprise! (more…)
